Jordan Haynes is an accomplished, award-winning artist and educator dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices through creative expression. With a wealth of experience in theater, film, and TV production, as well as theater education, Jordan has worked tirelessly to bring the performing arts to underserved communities.
Growing up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Jordan's love for theater, film, and television began at an early age. Inspired by productions such as Into the Woods, West Side Story, and Kiss Me Kate, as well as films like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and E.T., Jordan developed a passion for storytelling that would shape his career.
After studying drama at the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Music, Art & The Performing Arts, Jordan pursued a degree in Communications with a minor in Film Studies at Manhattanville College. He later earned a Bachelor's in Television & Radio from Brooklyn College and a Master's Degree in Educational Theater from New York University. Jordan is also certified to teach performing arts K-12 in the state of New York.
As an actor, Jordan has appeared in various productions, including Oroonoko with Theater for a New Audience, Cupid on ABC Television, and Cadillac Records with Sony Pictures. As a filmmaker, he has written, produced, and directed two award-winning short films, Lucidity and Sheet, as well as his most recent short film, Routine.
Jordan's passion for education led him to The Bronx, where he has dedicated his time and talents to bringing the performing arts to underserved communities. Through grant work, Jordan and his team were awarded $70,000 in grants, including the CASA Grant and the Broadway Jr. Shubert Foundation Grant, which allowed them to produce and direct several plays, including 12 Angry Men, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Jr., and Matilda Jr. Additionally, Jordan was awarded Finalist for the Flag Award for Teaching Excellence in 2022.
Jordan is committed to using his creative and educational skills to empower marginalized communities and provide a platform for their stories to be heard.
